Peer Support at Reentry: Evidence and Lessons from Camden County

This evaluation brief examines the Camden County Correctional Facility’s Peer Support Reentry Program (PSRP), which provides peer support to people with substance use disorders as they transition from incarceration back into the community. The evaluation found that participants experienced greater reductions in recidivism than comparable individuals who received medication for opioid use disorder alone, highlighting the value of peer-led, relationship-based support during reentry and recovery.
